weekly readings - all things enterprise saas and infrastructure from a seed VC
|Ed Sim||Jan 6, 2017|
Some great reads this week; the story on dropbox is interesting in thinking about how the bottom-up sales model works and the big bet on creating apps on top of a commodity file storage platform; equally interesting is the note on Salesforce and how hard it is just buy it and use it = vulnerability from new startups
Employees, esp. at later stage well financed startups, need to understand cap table to know risk/reward
great advice from Netapp Vice Chairman Tom Mendoza on how to keep your team motivated and performing
storage is a commodity, adding app layer on top is key for dropbox but moving into hyper competitive space for collaboration, etc - can they pull it off
case in point on why we believe the larger, old school SaaS vendors can be taken out from bottom up
are bots living up to hype - platforms and tools review, where are opps for startups
spreading in enterprise, more security, and automated code
huge milestone for klipfolio from seed to series B!
Klipfolio today raised a $12 million Series B in a round led by OMERS Ventures, with participation from its seed and Series A round investors.
